Quincy Pondexter tossed in 23 points on Thursday afternoon as the No. 4 Washington Huskies got past the No. 13 Mississippi State Bulldogs 71-58 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Huskies managed to cover the 6-point spread in this contest, while the combined score fell UNDER the day's posted total (148.5).
Jon Brockman added 10 points in the win for Washington. Barry Stewart and Phil Turner each picked up 11 points in a losing cause for the Bulldogs. |
